Monica Mattedi- Abstract Artist

mos+pic.jpg

“I used to paint beautiful landscapes, some of them so realistic they looked like pictures. But now I have found an enormous joy in creating unique abstracts with a technique I’ve developed myself. I love watching people’s reaction to the movement, forms and textures they see in my art because it stimulates their senses and imagination. My deepest desire is to use this God given gift to transfer onto my canvas the joy I feel every time I am painting”.

Born and raised in Brazil, Monica moved to the US on her last year of Psychology School when her love for art and design motivated her to change career paths and follow her true passion. She started her journey attending painting classes at the Boca Museum of Art and pursuing a degree in Interior Design. She has been painting for over 20 years and her work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries including the Diego Victoria Fine Art in Miami Beach, ArtServe and Bilotta Gallery in Fort Lauderdale, the Nathan D. Rosen Museum Gallery in Boca Raton, and is also featured in private residences in the US, Australia, United Kingdom, Greece, Israel, Canada, Singapore, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Serbia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, Chile and Brazil. Her artwork was exhibited at the Red Dot Miami during Art Basel week in 2019. Monica received honorable mention in the Open Art Exhibition art contest organized by The Light Space & Time Art Gallery in September 2018 and was nominated for the Visual Press Awards 2019 in the category of Abstract Art. Her beautiful fluid seascapes are also featured at luxury Mega yachts such as Alta and Revive, both over 140 feet.
